NORFOLK TEENS SAVE CHILDREN FROM HOUSE FIRE

Two teen-agers rushed into a burning house Sunday and carried three small children to safety.

"I'm just thankful the little kids are all right," said William Johnson, 17.

Johnson, who lives on the second floor of the three-story building, saw smoke pouring out of the building around 1:30 a.m. when he went outside to check on the weather.

Johnson and Antwon Jenkins, 14, who also lives in the building, rescued three children. A fourth was rescued by a firefighter.

All the children were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Johnson was treated for first-degree burns on his back, and both he and Jenkins also were treated for smoke inhalation.
