PERDUE, JOHN D.\
FOREST - John Daniel Perdue, age 59, died Tuesday, March 20, 1990, at his
residence, 200 Hitching Post Lane, Forest, Va. Born October 24, 1930, in
Franklin County, he was the son of the late J. Dodd D. Perdue and Drusie
Bradley Perdue. A graduate of Emory & Henry College, he was claims adjuster
for Nationwide Insurance Company. He was a member of Forest United Methodist
Church, a former member of Lions Club & Kiwanis, and was a veteran of the
Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Nan Mattox Perdue, of the
residence; three daughters, Barbara Bradley and Julie Wise, both of Forest;
Amanda Perdue, Roanoke; three sisters, Doris Knipmeyer, Skokie, Ill.; Mary
Eliza Jenkins, Petersburg; Ava Ann Campbell, Fayetteville, N.C.; five
grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at
Penhook United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ed McClain and the Rev. David
Hampton. Interment will follow Mt. Zion Cemetery, Penhook. The family will
receive friends at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7:00 to
9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to
Forest United Methodist Church Parsonage Fund. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home,
Gretna, is in charge of the arrangements.
