Hull, the son of Hall of Famer Bobby Hull, scored on a wrist shot after a faceoff at 17:17 of the second period to reduce Edmonton's lead to 6-5.
Defenseman Jeff Brown and forward Peter Zezel assisted on the goal, a quick shot that beat Pokey Reddick to the glove side.
Hull joins Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Phil Esposito, Jari Kurri and Bernie Nicholls as the only players to score 70 goals in an NHL season.
The 25-year-old right wing, obtained by the Blues from the Calgary Flames in March 1988, is leading the Blues in scoring for the second straight season. He had 43 goals in 1989.
His 25 power-play goals and 12 game-winning goals are both league highs. He also led the league in shots on goal and needed two more goals to break Kurri's record of 71 goals for a right wing.
The stocky forward also has broken six team records, including most points, most goals, most points by a right wing, most power-play goals in a season, most three-goal games in a season and longest point-scoring streak (20 games).
