TOWN OF FRIES HIRES PART-TIME MANAGER

Tom Burkett will be the new part-time manager for the town of Fries.

Burkett, who does the same job for Troutdale, another Grayson County town, works for the Mount Rogers Planning District Commission as a circuit-riding town manager.

He succeeds Jonathan Hamic, who is leaving the job to work for the city of Bristol.

Burkett is a native of Smyth County. He graduated from East Tennessee State University.
