EXXON OKS MEETING WITH WORRIED INVESTORS

Lawrence G. Rawl, the chief executive of Exxon Corp., has agreed to meet with the leaders of three public-employee pension funds after they expressed "grave concerns about the competence and responsibility of existing management."

The meeting was requested in a recent letter by three public officials who represent major institutional investors in the oil giant. They cited recent environmental disasters and potential financial liabilities that are "beginning to harm the financial health of Exxon." - Staff report
