TRIAL DATE SET FOR MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING WIFE

Bond has been set at $25,000 Thursday for Herbert G. Fisher, who is accused of murdering his wife in 1987. His trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 10.

Fisher, 37, a former Ware Neck resident who now lives in Montgomery, Ala., was indicted March 5 by a Gloucester Circuit Court grand jury.

The body of Kathryn Ann Youngs, 33, was found floating in the Ware River near the couple's home Jan. 3.

An autopsy did not determine cause of death, but drowning was ruled out by the state medical examiner because there was no water in Youngs' lungs.
