DRUG-PLOT DEFENDANT GETS 33-MONTH TERM

A co-defendant in a drug conspiracy uncovered in the Caribbean Sunset operation last summer was sentenced Friday to 33 months in federal prison.

William Casey, 20, of Roanoke pleaded guilty in January to charges stemming from his involvement with Worrell Robotham, a Jamaican native who was convicted Jan. 24 of conspiring to distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine.

Casey, a William Fleming High School graduate, was charged with cocaine distribution.

Casey's sentence, imposed by U.S. District Judge James Turk, also orders him to serve three years of supervised release, that he live in a home free from firearms and that he submit to urine tests to determine whether he is using drugs.
