RAGLAND, BENJAMIN O.\ Benjamin O. (Ben) Ragland, age 75, of 3654 Hershberger Rd. N.W., died at his home Friday, March 23, 1990, after a long illness with Alzheimers. He was a former employee with Ralph E. Mills Construction Co. and was retired from Branch & Associates. He was a member of Pleasants Lodge #63 A.F.&A.M. He was predeceased by one grandson, Robert O. Ragland, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Leslie Ragland; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Bobby and Becky Ragland, Roanoke County; Freddie and Connie Ragland, Roanoke County; Billy Ragland, Roanoke; Eddie and Ruby Ragland, Roanoke County; Benny Ragland, Florence, S.C.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty R. and Doug Heptinstall, Roanoke County; Joyce R. and Randy Rakes, Botetourt County; Nancy R. and Ted Clark, Roanoke; 13 grandchildren, David, Dale, Shannon, and Danny Ragland; Bobby and Richard Heptinstall; Kristie McCallum; Anna Beth and Cole Rakes; Brian and Katie Gaut; Tiffany and Laura Ragland; three great-grandchildren, Erica, Ashley, and Paige Ragland; two brothers, Warren Ragland, Boones Mill; and Ronnie Ragland, Montvale; three sisters, Mrs. Marion R. Unkle, Maryland; Lorene R. Craig of Montvale; Laura R. Collins, Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel Monday, March 26, 1990, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Richard L. McNutt officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Masonic Rites by Pleasants Lodge #63 A.F.&A.M. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel.
