The event has been held at Hotel Roanoke in the past. Moving it to the LancerLot means a reduced charge and a chance to attract new participants, said Bob Tully, president of On Target. Tully is the banquet chairman.
Dinner is $15 per person, and for those who want to join or renew their membership in the federation the total charge is $35.
"We felt like we should do something a little different to cut down on the cost, and maybe this will get us over the 200 (participants) mark," said Tully.
The program will feature Ron Brenneman, assistant director of research and management for the federation; Tom Stuckey, a champion turkey caller and Pete Bromley, a Virginia Tech wildlife biologist and secretary of the federation.
Profits from the banquet, which will include an auction of wildlife art and other items, go toward turkey management and research efforts, Tully said. Last year, the Roanoke banquet ranked in the top 40 as a fund raiser among the federation's 181 banquets.
Tickets are available at Capital Gun & Ammo, On Target and Trebark Outfitters.
