HUNTING EXPO CALLING CONTEST SET

The Virginia Highlands Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation has scheduled a turkey hunting program that will feature a calling contest. The program is set for Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the V.F.W. Post 1115 in Hillsville.

A calling contest, open to amateurs, begins at 3 p.m. At 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Tom Duvall of Perfection Turkey Calls will hold a 45-minute seminar. Pete Bromley, Virginia Tech wildlife biologist and secretary of the federation, will be featured at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Displays, door prizes and lunch will be featured. The admission is $5.
