RODEO FUNDS NETTED; MORE NEEDED

The annual Ernest Pig Robertson Trout Fishing Rodeo in Salem is more than a month away, but Martha Robertson, the chairman, is busy reeling in funds to operate the show.

"I need more each year, because the program is growing so fast," she said.

Recent contributions to buy trout include a $1,000 donation from the Salem Vietnam Veterans Chapter 14, Disabled American Veterans and from Sam's Wholesale Club. Sam's matched funds that were raised through food sales, said Robertson. Numerous other organizations and individuals have made contributions, and additional help is needed, she said.

Rodeo dates are May 12, children 3 to 8; May 14, handicapped and autistic children; May 17, nursing home patients; May 19, children 9 to 12.
