AKERS, D. HAMPTON\ CHRISTIANSBURG - David Hampton Akers, age 78, of North Franklin St., died Sunday, March 25, 1990, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired telegraph operator with the Norfolk & Western Railroad. Surviving are his wife, Victoria R. Akers; a daughter, Sue A. Conrad, Pulaski; a son, Charles Randolph Akers, Roanoke; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, W. G. Akers, Shawsville; C. L. Akers, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday from the graveside in Sunset Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Richard H. Horne. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Tuesday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
