CASSELL, ALVA M.\ MARION - MRS. Alva Myrtle Cassell, age 80, died Monday, March 26, 1990 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was a member of the Marion Church of the Nazarene for 32 years. She is survived by her husband, Garland Cassell, of Marion; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Bonnie) Umbarger, of Bastian; and Mrs. Betty Sue Hayden, of Marion; one son, Jimmy Cassell, of De Land, Fla.; one foster daughter, Mrs. Ann Hearn, of Marion; one foster son, Jeffery Mullins, of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two foster grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. John Prichard and Rev. Bill Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
