In honor of Mental Health Month in May, the essay should focus on some aspect of mental health, mental illness or dealing with substance abuse problems.
Students grades 9-12 are eligible to submit an essay of 500 words maximum, typed or neatly written on 8 1/2- by 11-inch paper.
The entry should have a title sheet and be accompanied by a cover sheet including essay title, student's name, age, grade, address, phone number, name and address of school and signature of an English teacher. Entry deadline is April 6 and cash will be awarded.
