NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

Dominion Bank has promoted a number of its managers in the New River Valley. LUCIUS M. MERRITT JR., who has been community manager for Blacksburg and Christiansburg for six years, is now area executive officer in charge of all the New River Valley Dominion Bank offices.

\ THOMAS W. JOHNSON JR., former community bank manager of the Christiansburg office and A. PHILLIP MEADOWS, former community bank manager in Pearisburg, were promoted to business development officers responsible for commercial banking in the area.

\ CLYDE H. SMYTHERS JR., formerly assistant community bank manager at the Blacksburg office, is now in charge of branch administration and retail banking for the region.

Within the New River Valley branches, the following promotions were made:

\ LENORE M. LINKOUS from community bank loan interviewer at the Blacksburg office to manager.

\ STEVEN C. SIMMONS from customer service manager at the Christiansburg office to manager.

\ SUSAN STROUP from loan interviewer at the Blacksburg office to customer service manager of the Christiansburg office.

\ JERRY B. SMITH from loan interviewer at the Pearisburg office to manager of the Pembroke office.

\ LESTER C. TICKLE from manager of the Pembroke office to manager of the Pearisburg.

\ BETTY C. JOHNSON from senior customer service representative to customer service manager at the Pembroke office.

\ KENNETH E. GRAHAM was recently appointed postmaster of Radford by the Richmond Division general manager and postmaster. Graham has worked with the Postal Service for 21 years in Blacksburg, Nickelsville, Gate City, Marion and Salem.

\ Leggett of the New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg recently recognized the top achievers in its store as members of the company's Pacesetter Club for outstanding contribution in sales or job performance during 1989.

\ LEATHIA ATKINS, ROBIN GATEWOOD, EVELYN HARRIS, BEVERLY JONES, JANICE JONES, GINA KAKNIS, JANE MOYE, RUBY MULLINS, JUDY PROCO, MARY NELL SWEENEY and\ BARBARA WAUGH were recognized.

\ ROBERT C. PISCURA has been certified by the International Board of Standards and Practices for Certified Financial Planners as a certified financial planner.

He successfully completed a course and has passed the examinations in the financial planning process, risk management, investments and other areas.
