Sales expectations for the second quarter are at a seven-year low but still don't point toward a recession, according to a survey of business executives released Tuesday by Dun & Bradstreet Corp.

\ AT&T introduced an office computer software system Tuesday that is designed to link desktop computers built by two of its rivals, IBM and Compaq. AT&T said it also would begin selling certain computer programs written for IBM and Compaq machines by Microsoft and Lotus.

\ A national poll of environmental consumers by Cambridge Reports Inc. has found that 69 percent believe nuclear energy will be important in meeting future electricity needs. Fifty-six percent said they thought nuclear electric plants emit no gases that contribute to global weather changes.
