ROANOKE CARRIER MAY SWAP AIRLINES

Air Wisconsin, which operates at Roanoke Regional Airport as United Express, may switch to another carrier partnership.

Watson Whiteside, vice president for sales, said the commuter line's contract with United Airlines will expire in the middle of next year. He said Air Wisconsin is reviewing its agreement with United and "exploring other opportunities as well."

Whiteside dismissed as "analysts' speculation" reports that Air Wisconsin is considering serving as a commuter for American Airlines. He conceded, however, that American and United are the only major carriers with hubs at Chicago's O'Hare, where Air Wisconsin is the leading commuter line.
