TRIBE GYMNASTS WIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

William and Mary scored 184.30 points to win the Virginia Intercollegiate Women's Gymnastics Championship at James Madison University on Saturday.

The Tribe took first place in four of the five events, breaking the state meet record of 184.20. James Madison finished second at 183.05, followed by Radford (179.70).

William and Mary's Sheri Susi and Heather Lange, a former Cave Spring High standout, and James Madison's Missy Liposky set meet records. Lange's mark came in the vault.

William and Mary also swept the men's individual championships, placing first in every event. Dan Krovich won the floor exercise, rings, vault and horizontal bar. David Williams set a meet record of 9.5 on the pommel horse to win the event. - Staff report
