UMW WOMEN NAMED MOTHERS OF YEAR

Del. Jackie Stump, president of United Mine Workers District 28, was recognized as man of the year and members of the Ladies Auxiliary of UMW in the district were named mothers of the year in Salem Saturday at a banquet of the Western Virginia chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women at the Salem Holiday Inn.

Speakers were Gloria Johnson, education director of the International Union of Electronic Workers and treasurer of the national coalition; Ron Baker, UMW organizing director; Virginia Diamond, assistant director of the AFL-CIO division of organization and field services; and Daniel LeBlanc, secretary-treasurer of the state AFL-CIO. - Staff report
