Country radio station WSSL-FM of Greenville, S.C., has hired the former Clemson head football coach as part of its morning team, where he will offer his insights on sports each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., manager John Cullen said.
"Danny has a wonderful quick wit and tremendous appeal," Cullen said. "This is really just part of our program to build a better morning show that meets the needs of our audience. More than anything, it's just the pleasant conversation he'll bring to a morning show."
Ford, who will sit alongside morning hosts Bill Ellis and Chris James, spent several days in WSSL's studio last week, Cullen said. He went on the air for the first time Monday, prompting a wave of calls from listeners.
Ford was replaced at Clemson by former Arkansas head coach Ken Hatfield after he resigned Jan. 18 in the wake of an NCAA investigation into alleged recruiting violations.
