TICKETS GO ON SALE IN MAY

Tickets for the first Virginia CorEast State Games, scheduled for July 5-8 in the Roanoke Valley, should go on sale about May 1, organizers said.

"We'll have two kinds of tickets," said Doug Fonder, president of Virginia Amateur Sports, the organizing body for the State Games here. "One will be a ticket that admits you to all events and all venues, that will probably sell for about $10. Or, you can purchase a ticket for a particular sport or event."

There will be no admission charge at many venues, Fonder said. "People can just walk up and watch for free," he said.

VAS has budgeted revenue of $10,000 from ticket sales.
