EYE-WEAR SURVEY WAS DISORGANIZED

AFTER reading Deborah Evans' article "No clear choice," it became obvious to me that her investigative (?) report is as murky as she purports local optical ads to be.

It is unfortunate that she insisted on such a disorganized survey. If indeed her goal was to give the consumers directions in choosing eye wear, quite the opposite was achieved.

Any comparison should be based upon similar styles and lenses. If you are going to quote prices, let people know what they are paying for. Don't make comparisons between apples and oranges without saying that one is an orange.

Evidently Ms. Evans' inane comments reflect her inability to draw upon the experience of those in the field whom she consulted. Properly researched, an article such as this could be of immeasurable help to consumers. Next time let's get the clear picture. TOM COX General Manager, National Optical ROANOKE
