OBIT ROOT, M.

Mildred M. Root, age 90, of 3938 Richland Ave., N.W., died Wednesday, April 4, 1990. She was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church and a member of Martha Berry Circle and leader for 27 years. She was a past Worthy Matron Williamson Rd. Chapter #119 OES. Also a member of the Dig and Dream Garden Club and the Williamson Rd. Women's Club. She was predeceased by one son, Fay James Root. Surviving are her husband, Joseph H. Root; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy R. and Robert P. Wingfield, Roanoke; son and daughter in law, William H. and Louise P. Root, Ellicott City, Md.; six grandchidlren, Paul, Joseph, Benjamin and Michael Murdock; James Root and Karen Leyh; two stepgranchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, with the Rev. George H. Gravitt officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after 12:00 noon Thursday.
