BLANKENSHIP, ROBERT K.\ NEW CASTLE, VA - Robert Kent (Roy) Blankenship, age 80, died Thursday at his home, Rt. 2. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alpha Jean Hancock and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Fannie Munsey Blankenship; two sons, Kenneth Blankenship, New Castle; Maynard Blankenship, Roanoke; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Janice) Hannah, Salem; and Mrs. Jerry (Rita) Springer, New Castle; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Price, New Castle; and Mrs. Mary Linkous, Roanoke; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Boitnott Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Huffman Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
