ALL'S WELL AT SCHOOL AFTER BRIEF DRY SPELL

Pupils at Roanoke County's Green Valley Elementary - who enjoyed a brief, unscheduled vacation Thursday - will return to school today.

They were sent home Thursday morning after a pump failed and left the school without water.

County schools spokesman Marty Robison said the 25-year-old pump was replaced and the well that serves the school was returned to service about 1 p.m. Thursday. The school, at 3838 Overdale Road S.W., has about 415 pupils.
