COURT OKS AIRING FILM ABOUT HILARY

A U.S. Court of Appeals panel issued an emergency ruling Friday night overturning a lower court order obtained by Eric A. Foretich that would have banned a scheduled broadcast of a documentary about his daughter Hilary, the subject of an international custody battle.

A few hours earlier, Foretich had obtained an order from U.S. District Judge Stanley Sporkin barring a broadcast of "Hilary in Hiding," a documentary that was scheduled to be shown at 9 p.m. Friday night on the Lifetime cable network.

Hilary has been the subject of a bitter custody battle between Foretich and the girl's mother, Elizabeth Morgan.

Morgan spent more than two years in the D.C. Jail rather than reveal the girl's whereabouts to prevent Foretich from visiting her. Recently Hilary was discovered in New Zealand with Morgan's parents, and custody proceedings are under way in court there.
