Michael Joseph Palma, age 75, of Salem, died Friday in a Salem hospital. He was retired from General Electric in Salem with 45 years service. Mr. Palma was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Vida Catherine Kniskern Palma. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Judith Ann Sessions, Kuwait; Mrs. Nancy P. Longerbeam, Richmond; Mrs. Annamary Emick, Roanoke; two sons-in-law, Mr. Kirk Long Sessions, Kuwait; Mr. Timothy V. Emick, Roanoke; a sister, Mrs. Lucille N. Schaeffer, Trenton, N.J.; seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at College Evangelical Lutheran Church Monday, April 9, 1990, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dwayne Westermann, the Rev. R. Paul Henrickson, and the Rev. Branan Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Mr. Michael J. Palma to College Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 S. College Ave., Salem, Va., 24153. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Salem Chapel.
