Elizabeth May Patterson, age 81, of 1401 Brighton Rd. S.W., died Saturday in a local hospital. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, past State President of L.P.N. Assoc., Pythian Sisters, and Regent of Catholic Daughters of the American Court St. Patrick #1605. She was a retired nurse from the Shenandoah Hospital, and the widow of Roland B. (Pat) Patterson and is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Betty Jane Patterson of Roanoke; Mary Ann and Henry Dunlap of Troutville; one son, Jerry Lee Patterson of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Funeral mass will be conducted at 11:15 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with the Rev. William S. O'Brien and the Rev. James E. Parke officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Catholic Daughters or to the Roanoke Life Saving Crew. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
