Kastning's project examined the effect of limestone composition on cave formation. Turner's entry showed the most stimulating aspects of educational computer games.
The two alternates for the Tulsa competition are Chris Wright of Patrick Henry High and Clayton Hodges from Franklin County High.
The Alfred D. Blease Memorial Award and a $100 prize for most creative project went to Thurman Pendelton of William Fleming High for his project on external combustion as a source of power.
