Last May, I found rust on one of the doors. I contacted the Circle Marketing in Columbus, Ohio, the firm that issued the warranty, and sent them a letter. I received a claim form to complete. I completed it and sent it back last August, and received an identical form to complete.
I filled out the second form, but didn't hear anything. I wrote them again in October. Weeks later an insurance adjustor contacted me, and made another estimate of the damage caused by the rust.
However, I don't know who the adjustor represented, and have received no other information about my complaint. Can you help? - W.C., Pearisburg
A: Quickline contacted Circle Marketing about your complaint.
Our inquiry was referred to Federal Insurance Company of Columbus, Ohio, which insured Circle Marketing's policy, said Kelly Siders, claims representative for Federal.
The company is unable to locate a warranty registration on your vehicle in its files, Sider said.
The Bodyguard warranty required that a part of your warranty form be forwarded to Bodyguard for registration. Upon receipt of this form, the company would forward you a Bodyguard warranty, Siders said.
To continue processing your claim, Federal Insurance needs a copy of the originial warranty (both sides of the preprinted and comptuer-printed warranty before your claim can be processed).
"Unfortunately, if the actual Bodyguard warranty cannot be provided, we cannot continue to process his claim," Siders said.
If you want to contact the company, contact Federal Insurance Company by GAB Business Services Inc., P.O. Box 20407, Columbus, Ohio, 43220. The telephone number is (614) 451-2144.
