FOXES WIN AAU GIRLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The FAA Lady Foxes defeated CAC White 50-25 to win the state AAU 11-and-under girls basketball title Sunday.

The Lady Foxes advance to the national championship tournament in Orlando, in July.

In the 15-and-under division, Roanoke Star White beat the Glenvar-Salem Kats 75-25 to win the Western Regional tournament.

Glenvar-Salem bounced back to defeat Danville Carnation 42-41 and will join Roanoke in Charlottesville April 20 to compete for the state title.

The all-tournament team announced Sunday:

11-and-under - LaTonia Beale, Michelle Wycinski, Stacy Simms, Sheryl Rhodes, Marie Washington, Amandy Kennedy, Sara Hoback, Amy Moore, Nelaya Lee, Kelly Runyun.

15-and-under - Shannon Harrison, Paula Kennedy, Shannon Simpson, Melonie Paris, Carmen Hutchins, Lisa Hodges, Marcee Hufton, Dionne Smith, Kim Stewart, Sherri Banks. - Staff report
