BEDFORD - Mrs. Nina Johnson Holt, age 89, of Bedford died Monday. She was the
widow of Joseph E. Holt, Sr. and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs.
Holt was also a member of the Electa Chapter Order of Eastern Star and
American Legion Auxiliary Post #3. She was a longtime employee of
Propst-Childress Shoes. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph E. and
Mary P. Holt, Thaxton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kitte H. and Oscar
Blackwell, Vinton; Jean H. and Roland Bean, Roanoke; seven grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; one brother, Hobert Johnson, Winston Salem, N.C.; two
sisters, Electa Weatherman, Yadkin County, N.C.; Etta Hemrick, Winston Salem,
N.C.; one brother-in-law, Raymond Holt; one sister-in-law, Gloria Holt, both
of Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday. Dr. Harry Y. Gamble will officiate. Interment will follow in
Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel from 3:00 to
5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
