ROBINSON, J. KENNETH\ WINCHESTER, VA. - J. Kenneth Robinson, 73, of Merriman's Lane, Winchester, Va., died Sunday at his residence. Mr. Robinson was born May 14, 1916 in Frederick County, Va., the son of the late Ray Robinson, Sr. and Ida Helen Robinson Robinson. He was a self-employed fruit grower and former United States Congressman. He was a former member of the Society of Friends and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as Major during World War II. He was active in numerous area organizations. Surviving with his wife, Kathryn Rankin Robinson, whom he married March 29, 1947 in Winchester, Va. are three sons, D.M. Patrick Robinson, James Rankin Robinson, both of Winchester; John Kelly Robinson, Frederick County, Va.; three daughters, Keveney R. Furst, Bellefonte, Pa.; Helen Ray Robinson, Tuscon, Ariz.; Sallie Langley Robinson, Old Grenich, Conn.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Ray Robinson, Jr., Winchester, Va. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Muldowney and Father Joseph F. Schwartz officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery. There will be a Rosary service at Omps Funeral Home on Tuesday evening at 7:00. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the Rosary service from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1804 Valley Avenue, Winchester, VA 22601 or the Boy Scouts of America, Shenandoah Area Council, P.O. Box 3207, Winchester, VA 22601. Pallbearers will be Mr. Bradford Tucker, Mr. J. Carlton Clore, Mr. Arthur Flippo, Mr. F.L. Largent, Mr. John Magill, Mr. John Scully, III, Mr. Lewis Hyde, and Mr. Chris Mathisen.
