SMOOT, RUDELL D., SR.\ BUENA VISTA - Rudell Douglas Smoot, Sr., age 65, died April 8, in the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Byers, Buena Vista; one son, Rudell D. Smoot, Jr., Kannapolis, N.C.; four stepchildren, Mrs. Barbara Ann Coleman of Winterville, N.C.; Mrs. Wanda Taylor, Greenville, N.C.; John Dejewski, Hopewell; Stephen Dejewski, Sloughton, Wisc.; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 11, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lomax Funeral Chapel with the Rev. T. Billy West officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
