OSHA FINE $1.5 MILLION IN NOISE CASE

A Philadelphia auto parts manufacturer, the Budd Co., will pay a $1.5 million fine for violations of government noise standards on the job, the Labor Department said Monday.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration in December proposed $3.3 million in fines for more than 840 alleged violations, including failure to tell workers that tests showed their hearing was deteriorating. - Associated Press
