NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

LUCIUS M. MERRITT JR. of Dominion Bank's Montgomery County offices has been promoted to senior vice president. He will manage the New River Valley region, which includes offices in Pearisburg, Pembroke, Blacksburg and Christiansburg.

Merritt joined Dominion Bank in 1970 and has been manager of the Montgomery County Offices since 1984. He is a Roanoke native and a graduate of Virginia Tech and the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

Three New River Valley professionals have been named to the Radford Community Hospital Board of Trustees. JOSEPH CONDUFF and LIN YOUNG were elected to four-year terms. RICHARD SHEPHERD, newly elected staff president, will serve as medical staff representative.

Conduff has practiced dentistry in Floyd for over 40 years. He is president of the Bank of Floyd and the Trustees of Jacksonville Burial Grounds.

Young, a registered nurse, is associate professor of nursing at Radford University.

Shepherd, medical director of the hospital's Emergency Care Center, has been on staff since 1984.
