PROTESTER AT CLINIC TO SAVE A LIFE

IN RESPONSE to Nancy Eddy's letter of March 20 concerning abortion protestors: I was one of those zealots at the clinic trying to save babies that day. My reason for being there was to save a life and to give the woman a chance to be counseled to the real truth of what is about to happen to her body - that her child will be vacuumed from her uterus and then put down a disposal like any other garbage.

My 17-year-old daughter was one of the ones arrested. She believes that life should be preserved, not thrown away. I am very proud of her for standing up for what's right.

I wish Ms. Eddy and I could work together to help women in unplanned pregnancy situations, but we differ because I value life from conception to death, and Planned Parenthood does not. MARY FOX ROANOKE
