WILDER SELECTS TWO DEPUTIES FOR EDUCATION

Suzette P. Denslow of Richmond and Karen J. Petersen of Chesterfield have been named by Gov. Douglas Wilder as deputy secretaries of education .

Denslow is director of research for the Virginia Municipal League. She also is president-elect of the Virginia chapter of the American Society for Public Administration and a member of the network of Virginia Women Lobbyists.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia, Denslow was the 1989 recipient of the J. Sargeant Reynolds Award for Outstanding Service in Public Administration.

Petersen has been employed at the state Council of Higher Education since 1976 and is the council's assistant director for finance and facilities.

She is a charter member and board secretary of the Virginia Executive Institute Alumni Association.
