PROFESSIONALS, DON'T OVERPROMISE

I READ with interest the letter (March 29) from David Garst, D.C., advising another writer to stick to the bottom line. The bottom line to me was wellness from $22 worth of drugs after several thouand dollars spent on chiropractic, hundreds of which went for X-rays.

In my opinion, the medical and chiropractic professions are overrated. I don't see these people many times until I come to realize that most of them are as insecure as I am (or worse), and damned if most of them don't need to go see someone.

Some will put something called a cigarette in their mouths and set it afire, yet they are to be known as men of wisdom? Not in my book!

Please, let us not take others on a "high" with our promises only to be brought down by the disappointment of saying or suggesting something we cannot fulfill. Peace and quiet, when I can find it, has done more for me than all the professionals combined.
