`CHILDREN AT RISK' IS SUBJECT OF PANEL

The League of Women Voters will sponsor a community panel discussion, "Children at Risk," Thursday at the Blacksburg Public Library at 400 Draper Road.

The discussion will begin at 7:30 p.m. with three speakers scheduled.

Mary Ellen Verdu, director of the Montgomery County Department of Social Services, will be joined by Russ Rice, director for the Montgomery County Office on Youth, and Elena Karr, director of community education and prevention services for the Community Services Board of the New River Valley.

The panel will discuss strategies to protect children.

The public is invited to attend this discussion.
