OBIT--LAYMAN, H.

LAYMAN, HARRY T.\ Harry Thornton Layman, age 62, of Lockhaven Drive, N.W., died Saturday, April 14, 1990. He attended Roanoke Valley Baptist Temple and was retired president and field representative of Laborers Local No. 980. He served as president of Roanoke United Central Labor Council for the past 8 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 3 and Williamson Road Lodge No. 163 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, Elma J. Layman; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie L. and James D. Pascoe, Troutville; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip T. and Angela M. Layman, Dublin; four grandchildren, Delisa, Valinda, and Blake Pascoe, Drake E. Layman; sister, Virginia A. Yancey, Culpeper; six brothers, Clarence J. and Jimmy B. Layman, Roanoke; Richard E. Layman; Grafton; Henry H., Paul L. and Joseph Allen Layman, all of New Castle; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, with the Rev. Dr. L. Ray Board officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Masonic rites will be by Williamson Road Lodge No. 163 at the funeral home. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
