Ray Williams, age 77, died Friday evening in a Roanoke hospital. He was a
retired employee of Hoechst-Celanese at Narrows. Surviving are his wife, Mary
Lee Jackson Williams; six sons, Raymond Lee Williams, Blacksburg; Melvin
Alonzo Williams, Erving Leon Williams, Michael Williams, Larry Williams and
Danny Williams, all of Pembroke; one sister, Thelma W. Redd, Pembroke; one
sister, Lucille Williams, Blacksburg; 15 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in
the First Baptist Church, Pembroke, with burial following in Birchlawn Burial
Park in Pearisburg. The body will be placed in the First Baptist Church at
1:00 p.m. Sunday evening where it will lie in state until time for the
services. The Williams-Jamison-Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, is in charge of
arrangements.
