EDWARDS FRESH TALENT FOR SCHOOL BOARD

ATTORNEY Emanuel Edwards would serve the Roanoke City School Board in a very professional manner. He is the fresh talent needed at this time.

A fine family man and parent, educated in the city schools, Edwards has worked well with community-based organizations such as Southwest Virginia Community Development Fund, Roanoke Neighborhood Alliance, Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley, and Community Organization for Research and Development.

Edwards interacts well with our children. He has been a teacher at Beaumont Learning Center. He has voluntarily lectured and taught in numerous Roanoke City public-school programs. He has served as legal spokesperson for children in Roanoke City in more than 100 Juvenile Court cases.

Edwards has served on the Boy Scout Committee of his church, has been in the Big Brothers program, and a board member of the local area Special Olympics Committee. Currently, and most pleasing, he serves as the volunteer legal adviser for the Lucy Addison Heritage Foundation (his alma mater), Northwest Child Development Center, and Apple Ridge Farms (a non-profit organization that hosts wilderness retreats for inner-city youths).
