HISTORY COMPETITION SCHEDULED AT E&H

About 170 students from schools in Southwest Virginia and the northeastern part of Tennessee will take part in National History Day competition at Emory & Henry College Saturday.

They will present projects they have developed on this year's theme, "Science and Technology in History."

A panel of judges will choose winners in a variety of categories, based on grade levels and types of projects, including papers, performances, media presentations and group activities.

Regional winners will go to the state competition, where winners will go to the national level. The Virginia Society of History Teachers sponsors the competition in Virginia.
