WORKSHOP SCHEDULED ON BLASTING PROBLEMS

A workshop for coalfields residents and insurance adjustors on problems stemming from blasting in mining operations will be offered Thursday at Southwest Virginia Community College by the Powell River Project and Appalachian chapter of the Society of Explosive Engineers, starting at 6 p.m.

Speakers will be from the college, society, state Division of Mined Land Reclamation and Vibration Control Engineering Inc. A panel discussion and question-and-answer session will follow.
