NEW CASTLE - Pauline Caldwell Ross, age 70, died Tuesday in a Salem nursing home. She is survived by her husband, Francis Ross; one son and daughter-in-law, Marion and Enola Ross; one daughter and son-in-law, Clara and Timothy Leftwich, all of New Castle; one brother, Jesse Caldwell, Catawba; one sister, Thelma Epperly, Roanoke; two grandsons, Shay Ross, U.S. Air Force, Germany; Charlie Ross, New Castle. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Boitnott Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Ross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Craig County Rescue Squad or Fire Department.
