FLOYD - Lissie Smith Cockram, age 82, of Floyd, passed away at a Roanoke hospital Tuesday morning. She is survived by twelve children, Raymond Cockram; Welby Cockram; Mrs. Irvin (Myrtle) Compton; Eugene Cockram; Randolph Cockram; Freeman Cockram, all of Floyd; Mrs. Clyde (Corine) Belcher, Meadows of Dan; Mrs. Benjamin (Joyce) Hawkes, Kernersville, NC; Tommy Cockram, Floyd; Mrs. Roger (Linda) Dickerson, Floyd; Mrs. Randel (Elaine) Harris, Roanoke; Mrs. Carliss (Loretta) Smith, Radford; one sister, Elva Thomas, Floyd; brother, Jessie H. Smith, Collinsville; twenty-four grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Cockram, the Rev. Robert Blackwell and the Rev. Clyde Earles officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery, Tuggles Gap, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Flowers are accepted but donations to the Floyd County Rescue Squad are appreciated.
