BUCHANAN - Bertie S. Underwood Wirt, age 86, died Wednesday, April 18, 1990. She was born January 15, 1904, in Lindside, W. Va. She is survived by five sons, James M. Wirt, Sterling; Kenneth L. Wirt, Virginia Beach; Robert M. Wirt, Waynesboro; W. Gerald Wirt, Buchanan; and Ronald A. Wirt, Roanoke; two sisters, Florence Helms, Buchanan; Beulah Taylor, Lindside, W. Va.; two brothers, Bill Underwood, Rich Creek; Howard Underwood, Pulaski; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Goodrich and the Rev. H. Marvin Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buchanan Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.
