ROAD CONSTRUCTION MAY CAUSE TRAFFIC SLOWDOWN

The Virginia Department of Transportation began supervising construction of a culvert in downtown Blacksburg Wednesday. South Main Street traffic is being narrowed between the Wilco station and the area south of the Draper Aden building to two lanes and diverted to temporary lanes.

Department officials said traffic periodically will be backed up during the construction. The work is expected to take two weeks.
