ROCKY MOUNT - Mrs. Maggie Hammock Hodges, age 87, of Rt. 7, Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, April 18, 1990, in the local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin D. Hammock and the late Mary Hodges Hammock and was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Bill Jeffrey Hodges, Sr. Surviving are two daughters, Betty Hamblett, Rocky Mount; Shirley Bowles, Morristown, Tenn.; seven sons, Clinton Hodges, John (Joe) Hodges, Jack Hodges, Fred Hodges, and Curtis (Trix) Hodges, all of Rocky Mount; Thomas Hodges, Lynchburg; Walter Hodges, Glade Hill; forty grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; a special friend, Sally Belcher, Rocky Mount; three sisters, Ida McCrickard, Snow Creek; Lizzie Hodges, Rocky Mount; Ethel Horsley, Dry Fork; one brother, Clarence Hammock, Bassett. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Lewis C. Arnold and the Rev. John E. Wallace. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home of Rocky Mount.
